But to be straight with you: converting a photo means sending it to PixelMe’s servers, and what happens to it there is not something this app controls. If a picture is private, that’s the thing to weigh.
The color controls are different — colors, hue, saturation, contrast and brightness all run on your own device, right in the browser. Nothing gets sent anywhere when you drag those, which is also why they react instantly.
GOOD TO KNOW
small details that matter- Photos wider or taller than 1024px get scaled down in your browser before they’re sent — the conversion service turns away anything bigger, so this saves you the error.
- Remove the background works best on a clear subject — a person, a pet, one object. Busy scenes confuse it.
- A smaller pixel size means bigger, chunkier blocks. 32px looks properly retro; 256px stays close to the original photo.
